Harold Hodson McFarland
West Weber – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend Harold H. McFarland, 90, died January 28, 2011 at home along side his loving family. He was born April 13, 1920 in West Weber to James Earl and Ella Doris Hodson McFarland. He lived his entire life in West Weber. Harold married Marva O. Clark March 19, 1938 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
Harold was a member of the LDS Church.
He farmed and worked as a cement mason, retiring in 1976. He enjoyed fly fishing at Henry’s Fork, hunting, camping and spending time with his family. He played softball for the church for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Marva; daughters, Janice Larsen, Sandy (Jay) Palmer, Karen (Blair) Archibald, Debra Joy (Kevin) Glende, and son-in-law, Joe Whetton; 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Whetton; three sisters; one brother; two grandsons; 2 great-granddaughters and son-in-law, Jay Larsen.
Funeral Services will he held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 1st from 6 – 8 p.m. and prior to the service from 12 – 12:45 p.m.
Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
