Hill Muniment 76

Muniment Hill 76 was created in Latin on June 22nd, 1515, at Rossdhu, and is a precept (written legal or official order, command, or mandate) issued by a court, judge, or authority telling an officer to take a specific action.  This precept is from Johannis (John) Mcferlan who was possibly the 11th Baron of Arrochar, and the 8th Chief of Clan MacFarlane the son and heir of Andree (Andrew) Mcfarlane, the 10th Baron of Arrochar, and the 7th Chief of Clan MacFarlane to John Colquhoun of Luss, knight.  If this is John the 11th Baron that would imply that he did not die at Flodden but it could also be another John Macfarlane.  John Macfarlane has granted possession and sold to Sir John (Iain) Colquhoun, 11th of Colquhoun and 13th of Luss all his lands of Stuckaclaigh in the earldom of Lennox and the sheriffdom of Dumbarton.  The required action is to put Sir John or his lawfully appointed attorney in hereditary possession and sasine of the said lands.  It has been transcribed/translated and is now available for CMW members to read on the website under Muniments.

Be sure to login at the website first, then select "Clan MacFarlane" from the menu and then select "Muniments". The actual .pdf file will be available for you to open at the bottom of the page. Cheers!
